The finished article

After deciding to replace my falling apart single speed, i found a frame on the bay that fitted the bill for a vintage road build. Then, after 6 months of refurbishment, sourcing of parts and then build, it's turned out quite nice.

It's a 1981/82 Pinarello Prestige S which back in the day looked like this

And is made out of Columbus KL tubing - fairly rare and light.

Anyway, now for some pics. First up, some close ups on the bandstand.

Next up, Passacglia on the beach.

And, whilst cliched, against some beach huts.

Then, by the Marina.

And finally, a few retrocamera pics.

The build:

Frame: Pinarello Prestige S
Groupset: Campagnolo Super Record/Record
Bars and Stem: Cinelli
Saddle: Concor Superleggera
Wheels: Record hubs, Mavic G40 rims
Tyres: Veloflex Master 23s

Thanks to Jon at Velo Vitality for the wheel build and fitting the cables, Argos Cycles for the paintwork. Rest done by myself.

The frame and panto'd parts were from ebayer 1963lee1963 whose basement is an Aladdin's cave of vintage steel.
